PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new gene coding a chimeric protein containing an extracellular
domain of c-MPL and a cell membrane-penetrating through type proteins other than the domain and used
for treating aplastic anemia, malignant tumor, thrombocytepenia, etc. SOLUTION: This new gene codes a
chimeric protein containing an extracellular domain of c-MPL or its part and a cell membrane-penetrating
through type protein or its part and is useful for producing the chimeric protein necessary for preparation of
c-MPL ligand agonist antibody and the antibody and the protein are effective for chemotherapy of aplastic
anemia, malignant tumor, etc. and treatment of thrombocytepenia accompanied by radiotherapy and
thrombocytepenia accompanied by bone marrow transplantation. The DNA is obtained by extracting mRNA
from HEL 92.1 .7 cell, synthesizing its cDNA, cloning the cDNA by PCR method using a primer and binding
the resultant DNA of extracellular domain of c-MPL to DNA of interleukin-2 receptor, etc.
